All Change at Off-Road Team

  • Schaeffler’s Maurice Foot is to retire after 38 years in the industry
  • John Merrick will take responsibility for off-road product management

After an impactful nine years working at Schaeffler, and 38 years in the industry, Maurice Foot is retiring from his role as Off-Road Product Management Team Lead in August 2025. Maurice was an integral part of both the local and global Schaeffler Off-Road team and has been responsible for overseeing the evolution of the agricultural department at the company’s UK HQ in Hereford.

Effective immediately, John Merrick will be taking on the role of Off-Road Product Management Team Lead, with Maurice assisting with the transition until his retirement date.

John has been a Product Manager at Schaeffler since 2021 and has over ten years of experience in the automotive aftermarket. Based in Hereford, John will report directly to Samuel Braun, Vice President of the Commercial Vehicle program, and his primary focus will be on managing and expanding the Schaeffler agricultural program.

John said: “I know I have some big shoes to fill with Maurice departing, but I’m genuinely excited to be taking on a new challenge. Schaeffler has a vast range of agricultural products, and the opportunities that come with that are also huge, so while there’s a lot to be done, I’m sure our team will succeed.”
