Keenan open day replaced with mid season sale

As with most events in 2020 the annual Keenan open day has been cancelled this year due to Covid-19. A staple in the farming calendar the open day traditionally drew large crowds to the Keenan factory in Borris, Co. Carlow with a range of informative talks, factory tours, live entertainment, hospitality and the highlight of the day; the mid-season Approved-used and second-hand diet feeder sale.

In place of the open day this year, Keenan will hold a 10-day sale of refurbished machines from June 22-30. Print and digital catalogues with details of all the machines offered for sale as well as videos of each model are available on request.

With machines being sold on a first-come-first served basis the advice is to move quickly to avoid disappointment. As drought conditions set in for the summer, the sale has received huge interest already as farmers consider buffer feeding.

Interested farmers are encouraged to request a catalogue either via the Keenan website or over the phone.  A number of strictly pre-arranged appointments which will respect social distancing guidelines will be made available to people who would rather call to the factory and deal in person. If any farmer would like more detailed technical information or has questions about a specific model within the catalogue, they can chat with a service engineer in confidence.

When pre-owned machines are taken back into the factory (either demo models or trade–ins) they undergo a detailed inspection to ensure they meet a stringent base level of quality. Then, similar to a rigorous aircraft overhaul, suitable models are stripped back to basics and each component is re-built as required.

Each machine undergoes a meticulous 60–point check, before been given the Keenan Approved-used badge of approval. This year’s mid-season sale will also feature a small range of second-hand trade-in machines that will be sold in their current un-refurbished condition for farmers to purchase. These can start from as little as €45 per week, subject to a 20% up-front deposit*.

“During refurbishment, we only use genuine Keenan parts,” said Michael Carbery, Keenan head of operations, “ensuring that the machine remains 100% Keenan. We do this to safeguard maximum reliability and delivery of the proven nutritional benefits that are associated with our brand.”

This year, for the first time, pride of place in the catalogue is a 2019 model of the Keenan Self-Propelled, MechFiber345. This demo model has very low hours on the clock, having only been used for Keenan on-farm demonstrations to show the speed, precision and versatility of the model. Now it’s time to find her a permanent home! It is anticipated the 345SP will draw quite a bit of interest from potential buyers across the U.K. and France, as well as Ireland.

All Keenan Approved-used machines are compatible with the InTouch nutritional support system and come with a 3–month warranty. Keenan are committed to 100% customer satisfaction and so the established network of service engineers is always on hand to help, to ensure farmers never miss a feed.

With a range of finance plans available, as well as flexible payment options — such as deferred payment into late 2020 and beyond – Keenan is confident a suitable fit can be found for every farm situation.
