Save the date for the Soil and Water Management Centre conference

  •  #Soil 22 conference takes place on-line and at Harper Adams University on 7 December 2022

The first five speakers have been confirmed for this year’s SWMC Conference.

They are Dr Philippa Mansfield (Natural England) who will be presenting “Improving soil and farm resilience with the Sustainable Farming Incentive” and Dr Marie Kirby (Harper Adams University) speaking on the subject of the removal of contaminants from Anaerobic Digestation and other wastewater using electrocoagulation.   She will also lead a tour to show the installation of this technology at Harper Adams.

Ian Rudge (Agrii Sustainability Trials Manager and former Farm Manager, Bedfordia Farms) will share his experience of management of digestate and slurries in a reduced tillage environment.

Neil Furniss a (local farmer) will talk about his experiences of under-storey sowing of crops in maize. Alison Karley (James Hutton Institute) will be speaking on “the practicalities and benefits of mixed species cropping”. There will be more updates as soon other speakers are secured for this event, of which there are several in the pipeline.

There will be an application for BASIS points in due course.
