Comment – Davina and Easter
As we all surface from the easter egg hunt from All Saints Churchyard and car park, plus a well earned roast leg of lamb, I wanted to reflect on the year so far.
My long time correspondent has been silent (thus far) with his ’26 predictions, I suspect, rather like yours truly, he finds himself somewhat bewildered by current international matters.
Mind you the AEA’s tractor registration figures have taken a turn for the better in the last month or so, although from a very low base in comparison with year.
If you have got the stomach for a long read try this for size, as it explains the interconnected nature of oil, fertiliser, insurance and mobile phone chips.
With only a handful of ewes left to lamb, in the teeth of Storm Dave last night with the slates rattling, the lady in the photo was pacing back and forth, I watched her on the camera, and decided that for once, I was staying in bed. Given the news that the 33rd fatality on farm in the last 12 months was caused by a barn door in the wind, discretion was the better part of valour. This morning I was greeted by a lovely black texel gimmer lamb, we called her ‘Davina’.
Stay safe and have a good week.
Andy
PS – I ordered the white diesel tank this week, who knows when (or if) the fuel will be delivered, let alone at what price..
