Dealer network expands across Central and South East Europe

Claydon has expanded its distribution network across Central and South East Europe, appointing distributors for its Opti-Till crop establishment machinery in Romania, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia and Bosnia.

The appointments are part of the Suffolk-based manufacturer’s wider international expansion, with exports now accounting for around 60% of production. The company says sales of its Opti-Till machinery have increased ten-fold over the past five years, while export sales have grown six-fold.

In Romania, Croatia and Turkey, Claydon has appointed IPSO Agricultura, part of the Monnoyeur Group, as its distributor. IPSO operates 21 sales and service outlets and employs more than 500 people, providing machinery sales, after-sales support, financeand technical services.

IPSO has taken delivery of four Claydon Hybrid T trailed one-pass drills – two 4m and two 6m models – for demonstrations in Romania.

IPSO marketing director Dan Gidea said the partnership would provide Romanian farmers with access to crop establishment machinery aimed at improving efficiency while reducing costs and environmental impact.

The IPSO management team has also visited Claydon’s Suffolk factory and the company’s arable farm, where it saw the development, testing and manufacture of the machinery and its use in field conditions.

Czech and Slovakian expansion

In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Claydon has appointed businesses operated by the Zikmund family, including KVG Czech, Topagri and KBT Proftech.

The group represents a range of agricultural machinery manufacturers and has dealer and depot coverage across both countries.

“Strategic depots and dealer partners across both regions” will provide Claydon with increased market coverage, according to Tomas Zikmund.

The business has ordered two 6m Claydon Hybrid T6 one-pass drills for its demonstration fleet and has completed product and after-sales training with Claydon.

Serbia and Bosnia

In Serbia and Bosnia, the new distributor is AgroTECH PMD, a family-owned business based in Trešnjevac, Serbia. It operates nine depots across the two countries and is involved in machinery distribution, servicing, transport and farming.

AgroTECH has added a 7.5m Claydon Straw Harrow and a 3m Claydon Evolution mounted one-pass drill to its demonstration fleet.

Owner Imres Bata said the business sees demand for machinery supporting more efficient and sustainable crop production, while Claydon export sales manager Simon Revell said the new partnerships would provide greater access to the company’s crop establishment systems in the region.

Claydon says its Opti-Till approach is designed to reduce the number of cultivation passes required for crop establishment, with the company reporting potential reductions in establishment time and cost compared with conventional min-till and plough-based systems.

The latest appointments extend a dealer and distributor network that now covers more than 30 countries, from Europe to New Zealand.

Claydon is continuing to target international growth, with exports now representing approximately 60% of its production.
