Comment – That Time of the Year

It’s been a busy week, for a variety of reasons.

First up, as reported by other, more reputable sources, Överum Industries, the Swedish plough manufacturers have filed for bankruptcy, CNH sold them fairly recently to a German investment company who promised a serious injection of cash.

Bluetongue doesn’t appear to be abating, with text messages from the Animal and Plant Health Agency telling me that more cases are cropping up in Wales. Presumably some colder, wetter weather should help settle the midges down?

Alongside this, I went to buy some breeding sheep just over a week ago and came home empty handed, as the sheep were good, but very expensive. Will try again in a week or so’s time.

As it’s the first newsletter of October, and Strictly has begun, the results are in, and with 292mm of rain, Septembers offering is the highest recorded rainfall here since records began (2020!) Despite my close neighbour rushing out to spray off his maize silage aftermath, we are still splashing around in a gator (other side x sides available)..

Have a good week, whatever the weather.

Andy
