Devon Dealer Gains Tractor Brand

McCormick Tractors International has appointed specialist agricultural and construction supplier Conagri as its Devon dealer.

Conagri director Andrew Venton said: “McCormick is a big win for us and we are delighted to be the Devon dealer for a brand which has brought technology to bear for our farmers in an increasingly challenging landscape.”

As well as agriculture and construction, Conagri also offers machinery ranges for material handling, forestry, sports and orchards, and IOT and robotics.

McCormick is well-known for its power technology – an advanced digital platform which helps owners to manage their fleets and farm more efficiently by making data-driven decisions around enhanced performance, reduced costs, simplified work, saved time, and increased profitability.

The global brand was founded in 1831 by Cyrus Hall McCormick who redesigned a harvester model created by his father, and patented it. By the early 1900’s, financier JP Morgan merged the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, as it was then known, with the Deering Harvester Company to create the International Harvester Company, the first large worldwide group in the agricultural machinery sector.

By 2000, the McCormick brand and its original Doncaster plant had been purchased by Argo Tractors Group, and in 2022 the brand launched its digital solutions for more efficient and sustainable agriculture, unified within the My McCormick App, which provides simple tractor management controls.

The McCormick portfolio totals almost 30 models, with ranges for open field (10 models), utility (11), specialised (7) and crawler (1) uses. Its evolution has featured several firsts, including the launch in 1970 of its World Wide range, the first European tractors to be equipped with synchronised transmissions and to offer optional hydrostatic transmissions.
