T H White acquires Cotswold Farm Machinery assets as owners step back
T H White Group has acquired the assets and business operations of Cotswold Farm Machinery (CFM), strengthening its presence in Gloucestershire and the wider South West.
The deal sees the well-established CFM dealership at Fosse Cross transition into the T H White network, ensuring continuity of service, parts supply and machinery support for customers in the region.
The move follows the decision by CFM owners Simon and Janet Carrington to step back from the business after more than 20 years. In a statement to customers, they described the decision as a “very hard” one, but said the handover to a “well-known and respected larger family business” would secure the future of the operation.
They added that maintaining continuity for staff and customers had been a key priority, noting that the existing team will continue operating from the same location under the new ownership. “The show must go on,” they said, expressing confidence in the future of the business and its people.
For T H White, the acquisition aligns with its ongoing strategy to expand its agricultural machinery footprint while maintaining strong local dealer relationships. The company has indicated that the integration of the Fosse Cross site will enhance support for both existing and new customers across the region.
Customers can expect continued access to machinery sales, servicing and parts, with the backing of a larger dealer network and additional technical resources.
The transition also reflects a broader trend within the agricultural machinery sector, where consolidation is enabling dealers to scale operations while retaining local expertise and customer relationships.
Simon and Janet concluded by thanking customers, staff and suppliers for their support over the past two decades, confirming they will remain locally based following their retirement.
