Specialist dealer portfolio expands

AgVantage UK has strengthened its position in the specialist root crop machinery sector after being appointed an authorised Scanstone dealer for Yorkshire.

The agreement sees the Beverley-based dealership supplying, servicing and supporting the full Scanstone product range, giving potato and vegetable growers across the county access to the Scottish manufacturer’s soil preparation and harvesting equipment through a local sales and aftersales network.

The appointment further expands AgVantage’s growing portfolio of specialist crop machinery brands, complementing its existing offering of equipment for cultivation, planting, harvesting and crop handling. The company says the partnership reflects increasing demand from professional root crop growers for dedicated machinery backed by strong regional support.

The Scanstone range available through AgVantage includes destoners, bed formers, bed tillers, windrowers and toppers, designed to improve seedbed preparation, optimise soil conditions and support efficient potato and vegetable production. To support the new franchise, AgVantage’s sales, parts and service teams have completed product training, while key replacement parts will be stocked locally to improve machine uptime during the season.

AgVantage will also work closely with Scanstone’s established parts and service operation in Brigg, combining local dealer support with the manufacturer’s existing technical expertise to strengthen customer backup across Yorkshire.

Andy Carse, Managing Director of AgVantage UK, said the new partnership adds another premium specialist brand to the business.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Scanstone and adding another high-quality manufacturer to our portfolio. The range is an excellent fit for growers across Yorkshire and complements our existing machinery offering. Our focus remains on supplying market-leading equipment backed by first-class aftersales support.”

Gary Halliday, AgVantage Territory Sales Manager for Yorkshire, said the machinery had earned a strong reputation among professional root crop producers for its durability and field performance, adding that demonstration machines will be available for growers to evaluate under working conditions in the coming season.

The latest appointment underlines the continued importance of specialist dealer networks within the potato and vegetable sector, where local product knowledge, technical support and rapid parts availability remain critical during short operating windows and demanding harvesting campaigns.
