Comment – Interesting times? Eat up.

Well, its been some week.

Whilst yours truly has been gadding about across Europe to the VDI landtechnik conference in Osnabruck, Germany, apparently there has been an election in the States.

We’ve done a bit of reflection on what this might mean for the industry in the UK and Europe (see this post for more on our thoughts), and whilst Guardian newspaper journalists have been offered counselling to help cope with the results  see here , elsewhere, I suspect what this actually looks like will take time to emerge.

One interesting by-product of spending a few days with colleagues from Europes agricultural engineering powerhouse, is the many side conversations regarding the state of the world. Our friends express incredulity that most Germans are seemingly unaware of the implications of war on mainland Europe a mere few hours drive east. Plus they have problems of their own regarding government closer to home.

I did come away from Osnabruck excited for the future, having had the chance to see up close near market research around autonomy, AI and practical examples of more resource efficient machinery, fuel sources and innovation. Despite the current industry downturn, the world still needs to eat.

Sadly I missed the Institution of Agricultural Engineers Landwards conference this week, but if you would like a roundup have a listen to the latest edition of the Brash Ag podcast here.

So clear your plate and look forward to the next chapter!

have a good week.
