Editor receives industry accolade

Agrimachinery.trade’s editor Andy Newbold received the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE). Honorary Fellowship Award at their annual awards ceremony this week, at Amazone’s UK headquarters near Doncaster.

– An Honorary Fellowship is the highest commendation awarded by the Institution.  It recognises outstanding service to both the Institution and to the Agricultural Engineering Profession.

IAgrE CEO Charlie Nicklin said ‘ When our Institution is looking for an independent person to chair a technical discussion, lead a meeting or interview key people, then Andy Newbold is the “go to” person. The combination of his engaging personality, experience of organising a wide range of events, knowledge of our subject area, and the people involved in our business means that he is uniquely placed to make an enormous contribution to the work of The Institution’

On receipt of the award Andy said  ‘I am surprised, humbled and thrilled to receive this award. I am grateful to the IAgrE for the support and friendship it has given throughout my career.’ Addressing the room he continued ‘There is a fine line between credit and blame, and this award is your fault!’
