Four Decades of Innovation Celebrated in Sustainable Agriculture

SKY Agriculture, formerly known as Sulky, and INRAE, previously CEMAGREF-IRSTEA, are marking 40 years of partnership focused on innovation and sustainability in agriculture. Since 1985, the two organizations have combined their expertise to advance farming through technological solutions and environmentally friendly practices.

The collaboration has produced several breakthroughs in precision agriculture, including the DPX fertilizer distributor, the Epsilon vanes for improved spreading uniformity, the ECONOV system for optimized input efficiency, and the more recent Speed Control technology, which automatically adjusts working width based on forward speed. Much of this innovation has been underpinned by scientific research conducted on the CEMIB test bench.

The partnership continues today with ambitious projects focusing on seeding and agronomic performance. To commemorate the anniversary, a symbolic trophy was presented to representatives of SKY Agriculture and INRAE, recognizing their shared commitment to long-term innovation and agroecology.

The two partners are also involved in the installation of the SEEDLINE research and testing bench for seed drills at Montoldre, within the AgroTechnoPôle—a world-first initiative aiming to improve efficiency and sustainability in crop production.

“This anniversary is a celebration of our journey together and our continued commitment to addressing the agricultural challenges of tomorrow,” said representatives from both organizations.

SKY Agriculture designs and manufactures innovative equipment for sustainable, high-performance, and soil-friendly farming, placing practical field experience at the center of its innovations.
