Group Showcases DualBrand Strength

Samson Group has underlined the strength of its dualbrand strategy with the official launch of the new Pichon SC centrifugal slurry tanker range, unveiled to more than 700 dealers, contractors and industry partners at the company’s Landivisiaumanufacturing site on 20–21 January.

A Strategic Event Highlighting Manufacturing Synergies

The twoday event was designed not only to present new products but to demonstrate how Samson and Pichon jointly leverageshared engineering and industrial processes. Visitors were given guided tours of the modern Landivisiau production facilities, where staff showcased the manufacturing steps common to both brands. The factory’s highcapacity, highly structured production lines served as a practical illustration of how the dualbrand system reduces complexity and maximises economies of scale for the Group.

Two Brands, Distinct Positions—One Industrial Backbone

The new SC (Slurry Centrifugal) range strengthens Pichon’s position in the valuedriven segment, sitting alongside its SV vacuum tankers. Although the SC range shares a technical platform with Samson’s premium TG models, the Group has been clear that the two brands are designed for different market roles.

  • Samson TG: positioned for customers seeking highspecification, premium slurry handling technology.
  • Pichon SC: targeted at users wanting reliable centrifugal performance at a more accessible price point.

From a manufacturing perspective, this approach allows the Group to develop multiple marketspecific products without duplicating engineering, testing or production investment. The shared architecture also helps maintain consistent quality standards across both brands.

Manufacturers Benefit from Streamlined Options and Reduced Industrial Complexity

The SC range has been deliberately designed with a streamlined specification and a simplified option structure. This benefits the end user, but it also offers crucial advantages to manufacturers:

  • Lower development costs by building on proven components and existing production infrastructure.
  • Reduced industrial complexity, avoiding the need to maintain separate manufacturing systems for each brand.
  • Improved production efficiency thanks to shared processes, common parts and unified qualitycontrol methods.
  • Greater flexibility to scale output according to market trends across premium and mid-range segments.

These efficiencies allow the Group to react more quickly to demand shifts while keeping production costs under control—an increasingly important factor in a competitive tanker market.

Demonstrations Highlight Complementarity Rather than Competition

A live demonstration featuring 14 tractor–implement combinations from both brands reinforced the dualbrand philosophy. Rather than presenting overlapping machines, the parade illustrated how Samson and Pichon cover different user expectations while sharing core technology. This ensures the Group can participate in nearly all tenders above 15m³ without internal competition.

A Strong Market Response to a Strengthened Strategy

Feedback from the event suggests the dualbrand approach is resonating with the market. By combining a premium range with a more accessible alternative built on common industrial foundations, Samson Group is strengthening its coverage across all slurry tanker segments while maintaining manufacturing efficiency.
