New Head of Technology & Farm Inputs Test Center

The DLG has appointed Martin Hanstein as the new head of its Test Center Technology & Farm Inputs, effective 1 January 2026. He now leads both the strategic development and daily operations of the wellknown testing and certification facility in GrossUmstadt, Germany.

The DLG Test Center is one of Europe’s key independent hubs for evaluating tractors, machinery and farm inputs. Under Hanstein’s leadership, the organisation plans to strengthen practical, realworld testing services—covering performance and fuel consumption, functionality and endurance, safety assessments and certification under national and international standards, including the OECD Tractor Codes.

Hanstein brings almost 20 years of experience in vehicle and powertrain engineering. Since 2023, he has overseen Vehicle Technology and Performance Testing at DLG TestService, expanding the department’s technical scope and managing complex testing programmes. His previous work includes senior roles at Opel and other automotive OEMs and engineering service providers, with extensive crossfunctional team leadership.

With a background in mechanical engineering and longstanding involvement in R&D and validation processes, Hanstein is set to focus on regulatory support, sustainable technologies and strengthening DLG’s international network in agricultural and vehicle technology.

DLG TestService remains an accredited and independent provider of both standardised and bespoke testing solutions, supported by expertdeveloped methods and robust quality assurance.
