Long serving specialist joins sprayer firms
Peter Wiles has joined Knight Farm Machinery and AGROMA UK as dealer area sales manager for the Midlands, South and East, strengthening the two sprayer businesses’ dealer development and sales support teams.
He joins after 30 years with the UK subsidiary of a major international sprayer manufacturer, bringing extensive experience in the crop protection machinery sector. Although his main focus will be the Midlands and the southern and eastern counties, he will also provide sales and operational support across the UK.
Knight Farm Machinery manufactures mounted, trailed and self-propelled sprayers at South Luffenham, Rutland. AGROMA UK, a joint venture between AGROMA and Knight, was formed to expand the mounted, trailed and specialist sprayer options available to customers in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
The appointment follows recent dealer additions for the brands, including Chandlers Farm Equipment and Anglia Sprayers, as Knight and AGROMA UK continue to develop their distribution network.
“Of the options available when I sought a new role in the sprayer sector, the opportunity to join Knight Farm Machinery and AGROMA UK was by far the most appealing,” says Wiles.
“Knight has a very strong reputation for technical innovation and has been a prominent name among UK sprayer manufacturers for many years, while the chance to help shape the new AGROMA UK operation and build awareness and sales of its mounted, trailed and specialist sprayers is a challenge I am really looking forward to.”
Paul Harrison, responsible for sales and marketing at Knight Farm Machinery and AGROMA UK, says the appointment will add valuable experience as both businesses look to grow their dealer presence and sales.
“I’m sure Peter will bring new perspectives into the Knight and AGROMA teams, and I know that his wide recognition within the industry will be of great benefit in underscoring how serious we are in our commitment to building our network and our sales across both brands,” he says.
