ProCam appoints Regional Technical Manager for eastern counties
Agronomy firm ProCam has appointed Matthew Cobbald as Regional Technical Manager covering the eastern counties of England.
Having worked as an agronomist and farm consultant for over 20 years, including his most recent role as Technical Director with farm management and advisory company Velcourt, Mr Cobbald brings a wealth of experience to his new position.
Joining ProCam’s panel of Regional Technical Managers, he will provide support to the company’s team of agronomists across East Anglia and into neighbouring counties, in addition to looking after his own farming clients. He will also contribute to ProCam’s technical council and be involved in the direction of the company’s multi-site trials programmes.
“This is a critical time for farmers and the wider agricultural industry and an exciting time to be joining ProCam,” says Matthew. “There are challenges ahead, for sure, whether presented by the regulations on pesticide use, climate change, or political direction, but there are also great opportunities.
“I believe as agronomists we have a pivotal role in helping farmers adapt their businesses for the future and ProCam’s broad ‘boots on the ground’ approach is ideal for what’s required.
“Crop protection remains fundamental to ProCam’s offer, but we also provide expertise in seeds and traits, crop nutrition, biological products, conservation agriculture and precision farming. I believe this more integrated approach will be essential as farmers seek to adapt in the years ahead.”
Mr Cobbald is from a family farm in Essex and has during his career to date worked across all broadacre crops as well as potatoes, roots, vegetables and forage crops. He lives in Suffolk with his wife and young family.
