James See notches up 25 years with Knight Farm Machinery

Knight Farm Machinery is recognised throughout the farming industry for the quality of its after sales and service, and one of the key providers of that service James See is celebrating 25 years’ service with the company.

James, who is married with three children and lives in Stamford, joined the company as a teenager straight from a three-year course in agricultural engineering at Caythorpe College.

He spent the first five years of his career building sprayers in the company’s factory at South Luffenham, Leicestershire.

In 2000 he transferred to the company’s After Sales and Service team, in which role he provides support and service to sprayer owners all over the UK and Ireland, and loves the variety of the job.

Out of spraying season the key work is servicing machines and completing MOT tests on them, while in season general servicing and fixing breakdowns occupies much of his time:

“It’s something different every day – different customers; different places and different challenges. There are few things more satisfying than coming across a really tricky problem and solving it so the farmer can get back to work.

“The five years I spent helping build the machines means I know my way around every part of them, which is really useful when it comes to servicing them”.

He also provides training and set-up services for customers of both new and second-hand machines.

Clare Slane, who manages After Sales and Service for Knight: “Providing efficient back-up is essential for the company, and our engineers are crucial in that, and help maintain a close relationship with customers.

“James is a popular and respected member of that team, and helps ensure that we maintain an excellent reputation for the speed and efficiency of our service”.
