- Visitors arriving at one of the UK’s leading farming events are assured of a show-stopping welcome – from the new JCB Fastrac iCON
The tractor, which has taken the industry be storm, will be positioned right outside the main entrance of AgriScot as visitors enter the Highland Hall at Ingliston in November.
Featuring all-new controls, including an advanced but easy-to-use touch screen interface, new transmission modes and other significant upgrades, the Fastrac will welcome visitors as part of JCB dealer Scot Agri’s support for the show’s ‘Fastrac’ entry scheme.
Show entry remains free but visitors registering online beforehand – see Visitor Info on the agriscot.co.uk website – can skip the queues to register on the day by using the ‘Fastrac’ lanes.
Lucy Mullin, Scot JCB Group Marketing Manager, said: “We’re delighted that AgriScot is back on the calendar after the disappointment of last year’s event being postponed and then cancelled due to Coronavirus.
“We have booked a bigger stand in a more prominent position to showcase the scale and scope of the Scot Agri business, which serves our agricultural customers with a number of leading farm equipment brands from branches throughout Scotland and northern England.”
The latest Fastrac 4000 and 8000 Series tractors have new control strategies for the stepless transmission, with fully automatic speed-based powertrain management introduced alongside existing modes.
Automatic switching between pedal and joystick driving techniques is triggered simply by using these different controls during field work and road travel, while a new joystick-mounted thumb roller provides fine speed adjustment.
The most eye-catching feature is the all-new seat-mounted iCON control console incorporating a 12in colour touch-screen display, which can be used to set-up and manage tractor, ISOBUS, guidance and precision farming profiles for individual implements and operators.
“The Fastrac iCON with its all-new control system and other upgrades has generated huge interest,” says Lucy Mullin. “We thought it should have pride of place as visitors to AgriScot make their way into the event, where we have one of the latest JCB Loadall telescopic handlers on display.”
Earlier this year, the extensive Loadall range was further expanded with the new – and in many ways unique – 542-70 AGRI Pro.
In addition to the Loadall’s established features, this high-performance handler eclipses rivals with its 173hp JCB DieselMAX engine output, 50kph DualTech VT transmission, 22% greater dynamic tractive effort and 14% greater hydraulic flow at 160-litre/min.
All of which adds up to a significant increase in productivity potential for large farming enterprises and contracting businesses.
AgriScot is billed as the UK’s leading farm business event, appealing to a wide cross section of farmers eager to seek out the products, services, advice and information necessary for their farming businesses.
This year’s event – a sell-out as far as exhibition space is concerned – will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston near Edinb
