Yokohama Rubber acquires Trelleborg Wheel Systems
- The Yokohama Rubber Company Ltd has announced the successful completion of The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems
“From this day forward, we will officially be part of the Yokohama Group, operating under the name Yokohama TWS as a new company,” says David Miller Interim Managing Director UK & Ireland.
The acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems will enable The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. to consolidate its place among the top tire producers in the world, achieving a global leading position in the off-highway tires segment.
The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. based in Hiratsuka, Japan, is a global leader in the tire industry and other rubber applications, such as conveyor belts, hoses & couplings, and fenders.
With 860.5 billion yen in revenues (approx. 6 billion euro), The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. is a truly international group, employing over 28,000 people around the globe and operating in more than 120 countries.
“As a customer, you will continue to receive the same high-quality products, solutions and level of service from us, as you always have.
In view of the acquisition, our legal entities across our global network will gradually change the company name to Yokohama TWS. You will be notified in advance as the switch occurs and we will share all relevant information necessary for you to update your administrative records,” added Mr Miller.
