Compact loader market targeted through partnership
CNH Construction has moved to strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding compact equipment sector by signing a strategic manufacturing partnership with Finnish loader specialist Norcar.
The agreement will see Norcar’s compact and sub-compact wheel loaders incorporated into the CASE Construction Equipment and New Holland Construction product portfolios, enabling CNH to compete more effectively in the under-four-tonne operating weight category.
Rather than developing an all-new platform, CNH has opted to partner with an established specialist manufacturer, providing a faster route to market while expanding its product offering in a segment where demand continues to grow across construction, agriculture, landscaping and municipal operations.
Production will remain with Finland-based Norcar, whose machines have been manufactured since 1998. The new CASE and New Holland-branded models are expected to be officially unveiled later this year before arriving at European dealerships during the first quarter of 2027.
The compact loaders have been developed for applications where manoeuvrability, transportability and low ground disturbance are priorities. This positions them between skid steer loaders and larger compact wheel loaders, offering contractors, farmers and local authorities an alternative for work in confined environments.
Humayun Chishti, President of CNH Construction, said the partnership fills a gap within both construction brands.
“Norcar’s products integrate seamlessly into our portfolio, allowing us to meet customer demand in the smaller compact and sub-compact segments that our current range does not fully address. Their complementary product range, manufacturing quality and potential for production expansion made them the ideal partner.”
For Norcar, the agreement provides access to one of the world’s largest construction equipment distribution networks while allowing the Finnish manufacturer to retain its own brand identity.
The partnership also reflects a wider trend across the machinery sector, with major OEMs increasingly collaborating with specialist manufacturers to broaden their product ranges and reduce development times. Rather than investing in clean-sheet designs for niche sectors, global manufacturers are using strategic alliances to accelerate market entry while leveraging established engineering expertise.
For CASE and New Holland Construction dealers, the agreement provides access to an expanded compact loader portfolio without waiting for a new in-house platform, strengthening their competitiveness in one of the construction equipment market’s fastest-growing segments.
