Preview of the Merlo stand at the National Ploughing Match 2024

  • Merlo is making its debut in its own right at this year’s National Ploughing Championship 2024. Following the recent announcement of a new dealer network in the Republic of Ireland, Merlo is eager to showcase a diverse array of machines from both its agricultural and construction ranges

Highlights include machines from their innovative, hydrostatic telehandler range, a class-leading 360 degree rotating ROTO model with an impressive 30m lift height, and two versatile compact tracked dumper models. Each machine boasts unique features and is designed with comfort, safety, and sustainability in mind.

From the agricultural range, Merlo will showcase the recently launched TF30.7. Measuring just 2m wide and 2m high, this compact machine delivers impressive performance and manoeuvrability, even in confined spaces. With a lift capacity of 3 tonnes and a boom height of up to 7 meters. Despite its size, the TF30.7 boasts the widest cab in its class as well as with optional cab suspension. The TF30.7 features efficiency enhancing load-sensing and flow-sharing hydraulics. It is also capable of transport speeds of up to 40 km/h.

Merlo’s medium-capacity agricultural telehandlers offer greater power and capacity than their compact siblings. On display at the Ploughing Match and designed for larger farms, is the TF35.7CS equipped with a 140hp Stage V engine to deliver class-leading performance. With a 3.5-tonne lift capacity and a 7-meter boom height, it features cab suspension and a responsive load-sensing, flow-sharing hydraulic pump with a 139 l/min capacity. This makes it ideal for demanding tasks such as silage clamping and general farm duties.

From the construction range, visitors can expect to see the 75hp, compact P27.6PLUS. Despite its small size—only 1.86m wide and 1.96m high—this Panoramic telehandler offers an impressive lift capacity of 2.7 tonnes and a lift height of 6 meters. Also on display is the P40.17PLUS, featuring a 4-tonne lift capacity and an impressive 17-meter lift height. This machine is equipped with front stabilisers to ensure greater stability and safety when handling loads at higher working heights, making it one of Merlo’s key offerings to the construction market.

Despite their robust capabilities, Merlo’s stabilisers do not extend beyond the machine’s overall width, ensuring exceptional accessibility. The PLUS model also comes with hydraulic frame levelling, boom side shift and Merlo’s unique ASCS (Adaptive Stability Control System), which offers an in cab live load chart display. Additionally, Merlo’s innovative attachment recognition system adjusts automatically the power and response speed of hydraulic functions based on the attachment used, load weight, and load position, further enhancing safety and efficiency.

Well known in the construction world, Merlo will showcase the rotating ROTO 50.30 S PLUS at the event. This model features a Stage V 170 hp engine, a 5-tonne capacity, and a maximum lift height of up to 30m. Rotating models like the ROTO offer a greater range of movement than fixed telehandlers, thanks to their rotating turret and multi-stage boom. The S PLUS model is equipped with dual hydraulic load-sensing pumps, a hydraulic tilting cab for maximum operator comfort, and automatic management of the multi-position stabilisers as standard, ensuring greater safety, comfort, and unparalleled efficiency. With road speeds of up to 40 km/h and class-leading stability due to dynamic load monitoring, it is ideal for a wide range of applications and delivers exceptional performance whether tree felling or bridge building.

Completing Merlo’s line-up at this year’s event are the innovative Cingo tracked carriers. Powered by a hydrostatic track motor driving durable rubber tracks, these carriers offer enhanced mobility and stability. The hydrostatic system, combined with fingertip, hydraulic servo-assisted controls, enables the operator to steer with precision and safety.  Two dumper models will be on display: the compact M500DM, powered by a 5.5hp Honda petrol engine, with a 500kg load capacity and a hydraulic tipping dumper body, it measures just 690mm wide is perfect for passing through doorways.

The slightly more powerful High-Tip M700TD dumper, has been designed for excellent stability when tipping into skips and trailers.  It measures 750mm wide has a 700kg capacity, and is powered by a 12hp Honda petrol engine. The Hi-Tip model also comes standard with a vibration-proof footplate, allowing the operator to ride rather than walk while operating the machine.

With a strong commitment to innovation, safety, and versatility, Merlo’s presence at the National Ploughing Championships highlights Merlo’s dedication to supporting their new dealer network in Ireland by providing cutting-edge solutions across both the agricultural and construction industries. Whether you’re looking for compact manoeuverability, powerful lifting capacity, or advanced safety features, Merlo’s diverse range of machines has something to offer every professional.
