ScotGrass – Back and busy
Regardless of sustained rain over several days before the event, ScotGrass returned to SRUC’s Acrehead unit at Dumfries with some style on the 18th of May.
With a fast draining sit and some rapid intervention with diggers, telehandlers, stone and wood chippings, all kit made it onto the demo fields and the statics in good order and gates opened as planned for 9am.
Despite putting back the demonstration start time to 12 noon, the static stands were thronged from opening time onwards, and following a field inspection with Hugh McClymont, the Farm Manager, machine demonstrations were able to start by 11am.
For many companies it was the first opportunity to get back in front of customers with new product in a working demo. ‘We enjoyed a strong footfall with visitors keen to focus on forage production and to discuss ways to make their business more sustainable.” Shaun Groom from Merlo UK commented.
Organised by the Agricultural Engineers Association on behalf of the industry, Kayleigh Holden, event organiser said that ‘over 4000 visitors enjoyed a well earned day out at ScotGrass’.
ScotGrass returns in 2025.
