Seeding portfolio expands through new manufacturing alliance

A strategic alliance between CNH and seeding equipment manufacturer Bourgault Industries is set to expand the range of seeding equipment available through CNH’s dealer network.

The agreement will see co-branded Case IH and New Holland equipment manufactured by Bourgault and distributed through CNH dealers in North America, Australia and other high-potential seeding markets.

The portfolio will include precision seeding and air drill systems, high-capacity air carts, and associated digital technology and control systems.

For CNH, the agreement is intended to accelerate the introduction of new seeding products while expanding customer choice without requiring all development and manufacturing capability to be developed internally.

The company says the alliance combines Bourgault’s specialist expertise in large-scale seeding equipment with its own global reach, precision technology and dealer network. CNH Capital financial services will also form part of the wider proposition.

For dealers, the agreement provides access to a broader seeding portfolio, which CNH says will create additional opportunities in key agricultural markets.

“Our customers expect us to deliver a strong, comprehensive portfolio with the right technology behind it,” said Gerrit Marx, Chief Executive Officer at CNH.

“By combining complementary strengths, this alliance enhances our ability to compete, creates new opportunities for our dealers, and enables us to invest more in the technologies shaping the future of agriculture.”

Bourgault Group President Bill Glanville said the agreement would provide opportunities to extend the company’s reach while maintaining its focus on innovation and customer support.

CNH will continue to support its existing seeding equipment portfolio during a transition period.

The company’s production facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, will remain focused on manufacturing planters and combine harvester headers.

The alliance forms part of CNH’s wider Path to 2030 strategy, with the company identifying partnerships as one route to bringing technology and new products to market more rapidly.
