Effective 1st January 2021, Ovlac, the Spanish quality plough manufacturers, will have a wholly owned UK subsidiary, Ovlac UK responsible for all sales, marketing and aftercare.
Ovlac have been established in the UK market for over ten years, initially imported by Reco and latterly by Halse South West, who have done an excellent job building the brands presence and market share.
“Ovlac has now been present for nearly 10 years in the UK, first with Reco and, since its closure, with Halse South West who have done a superb job in the last 5 years. With several hundreds of machines at work, we now feel at Ovlac that it is time to go one step further and commit ourselves more directly to such an important market. We believe we have a bright future ahead and together with Nick Clark, who will be our man on the ground, we offer smart, profitable solutions to British farmers.
We would like to expressly thank Philip Halse for his professionalism and support over these years as well as in this moment of transition.” Said Jorge Calvo Ovlac’s Managing Director.
Establishing a wholly owned UK subsidiary is the next natural step in developing the business and one that is supported by the outgoing importer.
Philip Halse of Halse South West said “we applaud and wholeheartedly support Ovlac in their ambitions to accelerate the business in the U.K. We see this as the logical next step for a growing brand and as Ovlac Dealers for the SW of England are looking forward to fully playing our part in the coming years.”
The UK operation is headed up by Nick Clark, formerly Ovlac sales manager for Halse South West.
“As the man on the ground with a decade of experience with Ovlac, I am looking to next decade in front of me, working more closely with our loyal dealers, and expanding the network coverage further. With the new machines coming on line in 2021 this strengthens Ovlac’s armoury of innovative tillage solutions.” Nick says.
To confirm the Win a Plough competition continues with the winner now being drawn at the Lamma show 25-26 May at the NEC. The winner gets a years free use of the plough from then on.
