UK tractor registrations continue recovery in first half of 2026
UK agricultural tractor registrations remained ahead of last year’s levels in June, with 999 new machines registered during the month – an increase of 17.3% compared with June 2025.
The latest figures from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) show that 5,955 tractors have been registered during the first six months of 2026, representing a 22.3% rise on the same period last year.
Despite the improvement, the market remains below longer-term averages. June registrations were around 8% lower than the five-year seasonal average, while first-half totals remain about 5% below the recent average.
The AEA said the figures indicate a welcome recovery from the exceptionally weak market conditions seen in 2025, but warned that the improvement remains fragile. Lower farmer confidence and rising input costs could slow progress during the second half of the year.
