31% rise in demand prompts ‘Super September’ Machinery Sales
Ritchie Bros. is rolling out Super September 2025 – a month filled with high-volume auctions designed to match the surge in international demand for used agricultural machinery across Europe.
With multiple events scheduled through EMEA and APAC, it marks an important opportunity for farmers, contractors, and agri-businesses to buy and sell equipment ahead of the Autumn and Winter seasons.
Recent trends point to strong momentum in the agricultural sector: in the first half of 2025, Ritchie Bros. recorded its highest international demand for agricultural equipment in five years, with a 31% year- over-year increase in buyers and a 27% rise in bidders across auctions and Marketplace- E – both marking the highest levels in the past five years.
Buyer activity was particularly strong from countries such as Germany, Italy, Australia and France, while the highest number of bidders came from Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland.
These figures highlight the continued international reach of the agricultural market and the ongoing circulation of machinery beyond national borders.
Nearly 3,000 agricultural equipment lots were sold through Ritchie Bros. in the first half of 2025. A significant share of this volume was handled through Ritchie Bros.’ hub in Meppen, Germany, which hosted some of the largest agricultural auctions in Europe and featured over 1,000 agricultural items, further consolidating its position in the market.
The most frequently sold items included agricultural tractors, cultivators, balers, sprayers and combines. Well-known manufacturer brands such as John Deere, New Holland, Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Deutz-Fahr were among the most transacted.
