Slurry equipment partnership expands European product portfolio
A new strategic joint venture between German equipment manufacturer Vogelsang and Slovenian agricultural machinery manufacturer BeTEC is set to create a broader European portfolio of slurry application equipment.
Under the agreement, BeTEC will take responsibility for production, design and technical development of slurry applicators, while Vogelsang will retain responsibility for sales and after-sales activities across Germany and Europe, excluding Slovenia.
The partnership brings together Vogelsang’s established European sales and service infrastructure with BeTEC’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities. The companies say the arrangement is intended to improve production efficiency while allowing the combined business to respond to demand across different market segments.
The two family-owned companies will consolidate their existing dribble bar and trailing shoe product lines into a new portfolio marketed under the Vogelsang-BeTEC brand.
Wider European offering
The combined range will cover a broader selection of working widths, specifications and price points, targeting large-scale agricultural businesses, contractors and smaller and part-time farming operations.
For the European agricultural machinery supply chain, the agreement also creates a single portfolio supported by Vogelsang’s existing network of subsidiaries and dealers.
Henning Ahlers, head of sales for agricultural technology and biogas in Germany at Vogelsang, says the expanded range will enable the business to offer customers a wider choice of slurry application technology while making use of its established European distribution network.
The partnership also represents a further development of Vogelsang’s dribble bar business. The company describes itself as the inventor of dribble bar technology and says the new arrangement will support further development of the product range.
Production and development
BeTEC will be responsible for the needs-based production of the applicators, together with construction and technical development.
